The holder of the Florist CAP is an employee who carries out an activity of a craft and artistic nature. He or she is able to:
- make any arrangement with any plant
- handle sales, advise customers and help build customer loyalty
The training is based around Blocks of Skills (BC):
BC01 - Preparing products, plants and making a floral composition
Receiving, preparing, storing:
Check the quantity and quality of plants and products (on receipt)
Prepare plants and products for storage and/or processing
Provide plants and products according to their nature and condition and forecast sales
Check and pass on inventory results to the manager
Clean according to health and safety instructions
Process and prepare :
Analysing the work to be carried out
Organising the work according to the order to be processed
Checking that the work carried out matches the order
Remodelling the work surface
BC02 - Selling, advising the customer and highlighting the offer
Selling, advising and building loyalty:
Greeting the customer
Identifying the customer's needs
Arguing and advising
Proposing services and advising customers
Closing the sale
Acknowledging common complaints and pass them on to the manager
Participate in sales development and advertising operations
Make deliveries
Promote the offer:
Valuing plants and products and sales outlets
Participating in event-based or promotional demonstrations
BC03 - Prevention - health - environment
Applying a method for analysing a situation from professional or everyday life and documentation
Relating a physiological phenomenon, an environmental issue, a regulatory provision, with a preventive measure
Propose a solution to a health-related problem, the environment or consumption and argue for a choice
Communicate in writing and orally using clear syntax and appropriate technical vocabulary
Act when faced with an emergency situation
BC04 - French and History - geography - moral and civic education
BC05 - Mathematics and physics - chemistry
BC06 - Physical education and sport
BC07 - Modern language English

Total maximum duration of 1,025 hours, including 490 hours in a company and 535 hours at the training centre.

To work in a traditional shop in the craft sector, mainly very small businesses, a self-choice and self-service shop, a specialist department of a multi-purpose business, a business using floral services, a floral art workshop.
To access the following professions: Qualified florist, assistant florist, qualified workshop employee, qualified manufacturing employee, qualified sales assistant, qualified order preparer.

You can eat lunch at the school canteen or bring your own lunch .

Mistral network buses serve the establishment. The train station is nearby, and the ferry terminal is a 15-minute bus ride away.
